This week in the edition of Food Market Saturdays I visited Camden Lock, one of my favourite markets for a couple of years now. What I love about it is first, where it is. Camden is particularly known for being an alternative-filled community. The shops there are super fun, and in Camden Lock specifically, it is fascinating to see that there are food stands from all over the world. This time I was drawn by a pulled pork stand (being a pulled pork fan myself). It was AMAZING, I really did not expect this much flavour.
So, what do you get when you order a pulled pork sandwich at La Porca? A warm bun (important!) containing: apple coleslaw, fresh seasonal salad (in my case rocket and lettuce), crunchy red onion, and then you can add Jack Daniel’s BBQ Sauce, a sweet chilli sauce and some burger sauce which was pure elixir. I also added melted cheese for an extra (and totally worth it 50p). I swear I did not expect the rush of flavours I got from this sandwich, my “hmm”s and “ohhh”s were endless. There are so many flavours combined that when you bite in you’ll get a kick but other flavours prevail towards the end, so that when you take a second bite you’re kicked again (in the face, with a flavour chair).
